In the past, music arranging in Sabah was based on traditional beats using only a few musical instruments such as the bass, guitar, drum and keyboard. Compared that to today’s time, music melody have gone through a vast change and improvements by way of how the music is being played and the changes and varieties in chord used whereby now there is a fusion of traditional and modern.
In the early years, in order to input vocals, music was played live. Now music is recorded in several different tracks which can be done in a computer which have been installed with special softwares for making/creating music and to carry out vocal recording. Hence, the music making process and vocal recording now is much easier compared to the past.
I myself am a local musician in Sabah. In my observation, if compared the way music was made in the past to today, there is a vast difference whereby now is easier. Most of the music made in Sabah are created by heart/by ear and not based on pre-written scores. 89% are like that, I’d say. Here, I would like to give my support and motivation to arts lovers in the state of Sabah to increase the sound and music quality up to the stage where it can break through outside market in the future.

P/s; memang konsep musik dan lagu2 disabah amat lain drpd yg lain..dan tak hairan klo satu hari nnt musik2 dan lagu2 di sabah boleh naik..diharap semua menyahut cabaran ini..hehehe sabah boleh!!
